Dr. Ines Abdel Dayem

UMA Chairperson: Dr. Ines Abdel Dayem is the President of United Media Academy and a distinguished cultural leader and musician. She is known for her significant contributions to Egypt's cultural and artistic landscape. She served as Egypt's Minister of Culture from January 2018 to August 2022, where she launched numerous initiatives to preserve and promote Egyptian heritage and enhance international cultural exchanges.

Before her ministerial role, Dr. Abdel Dayem was the Chairperson of the Cairo Opera House from 2012 to 2018, revitalizing its programming and strengthening collaborations with global artists. As the Principal Flautist of the Cairo Symphony Orchestra from 2003 to 2012, she performed internationally and mentored young musicians.

Educated at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris and Cairo Conservatoire, Dr. Abdel Dayem is also a member of the International Music Council and the Egyptian Society of Musicology. Her contributions have earned her numerous awards, including the Order of Arts and Letters (Officier) from France.

Fluent in Arabic, English, and French, Dr. Abdel Dayem remains dedicated to advancing Egypt's cultural heritage and fostering global cultural understanding.
